History Bendi Forklifts

Above on the page there're some Service PDF Manuals, Electric Wiring Diagrams & Error Codes DTC for BENDI Narrow Aisle Forklift Trucks.

Bendi's history dates back to 1960, when engineer Fred Brown developed the world's first order picker, allowing an operator to change pallets and lift a load while standing next to him.

Prior to this time, Fred Brown had worked for a long time at Lansing Bagnall, a well-known English firm producing loading equipment, where he gained experience in designing forklift trucks and compiled the first list of potential problems associated with the movement of goods in a warehouse, its storage and placement.

Fred Brown considered the placement of cargo in the warehouse to be one of the main problems, existing forklifts at that time allowed for complex manipulations with cargo, but at the same time they took up a lot of space and required a complex layout of racks, since they needed a lot of space for maneuvering, because of which the capacity of the warehouses was low relative to their area.

Fred Brown, solving this problem, invented and patented the world's first articulated forklift truck.

The essence of the machine was that the loading fork, or transport platform, was attached to the forklift truck on hinges, due to which it was able to turn left and right, regardless of the turn of the forklift itself, this design allowed the loader to maneuver in narrower aisles.

Pass difficult areas where a conventional forklift or reach truck could not pass in principle, also the swivel design made it possible to carry out more complex operations with cargo at a height, forklifts of this type are able to install cargo on racks from various positions.

Sometimes even without completely leaving the turn between the racks, which, together with the possibility of installing a higher mast and the absence of the need for large corridors, allows increasing the capacity of the room.

Fred Brown essentially invented three-way stowage, and his invention instantly became very popular in England and the United States, which are experiencing a turbulent period in the development of the logistics business.

For the first time, such equipment was presented to the public on national television in England in 1970, and since then Bendi has remained the leader in the production of equipment of this type, with virtually no competitors.

Much attention in the production of loading equipment in Bendi is given to the possibility of working in various types of heavily loaded warehouses, where narrow aisles prevail, due to which Bendi forklift trucks with each new series become more compact and maneuverable.

Also invaluable work for the industry as a whole is the work of the brilliant engineer Fred Brown in the field of order pickers, it was Bendi who was the first in the world to introduce an order picker to the market with a platform that lifts not only the load, but also the operator.

All control of the loading and unloading process is carried out by the operator on the lifting platform, being in close proximity to the fork working with the load, thanks to which it is possible to carry out manipulations with delicate cargo, while minimizing the possibility of error.

All Bendi equipment is highly reliable and made of quality materials, the company has ISO9001 and ANSI B56. 1 certificates, forklifts and stackers of the company are practically unparalleled.
